Will a foreign diploma be an advantage? The president of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy advises students.

The president of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and former Minister of Education Serhiy Kvit stated that having a foreign diploma should not be a privilege. According to him, young people should not idealize everything that is abroad, as a diploma only reflects the quality of education, while all other skills a person acquires independently.
Kvit added that obtaining a foreign education is not a simple privilege, as employers are always looking for practically and rationally thinking specialists who meet their needs.
He emphasized that obtaining a diploma does not mean being able to apply the knowledge gained. According to him, young people need to have a sense of their importance and necessity, as well as understand that without them the country cannot function. Therefore, young people need opportunities for social growth and career development.
Kvit also stressed the need for reforms. He believes that one of the most successful reforms after the Revolution of Dignity is decentralization reform, which is needed for changes in all spheres of society. Moreover, Kvit highlighted the importance of university autonomy.
The president of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy noted that Ukraine does not need to invent something special, it just needs to do its job. He also emphasized the importance of political values such as freedom of speech and freedom of choice for Ukrainian society.
He noted that the future Ukraine should attract Ukrainians who left the country during the war and create a policy that promotes the return of Ukrainians from other countries. Furthermore, Ukraine should have a cultural policy that ensures loyalty and respect for Ukrainian culture.
It is worth mentioning that Serhiy Kvit had previously expressed the need to review the network of higher education institutions in Ukraine. He emphasized that universities should meet the needs of the national economy and regions, and have various specializations.
Kvit also stated that for obtaining quality education, Ukrainians do not need to go abroad. For example, undergraduates can receive quality education in Ukraine.
