The energy system of Ukraine is recovering: when to expect full stabilization

According to ТСН: The process of restoring the energy system in Ukraine continues after Russian attacks; however, achieving full stability will take some time.

Restoration of energy infrastructure

The General Manager for Safety and Resilience at DiXi Group, Olena Lapenko, noted in a comment that representatives of major energy companies and the relevant ministry confirm a positive trend in restoring the energy infrastructure.

“Recovery is underway, and today we had many speakers — from 'Ukrhydroenergo', from 'Ukrenergo', and from the Ministry of Energy, who confirm that we are recovering. We currently have three times the equipment reserve than was planned in 2022. Yes, we have reserves for recovery, but we need time,” Lapenko noted.

Factors affecting the pace of restoration

She also emphasized that the speed of recovery directly depends on the security situation and weather conditions. If new attacks or sharp cold occur, the load on the energy system may increase.

“If there are no strikes, we will be able to recover faster. But frosts are ahead, and they always increase consumption. Therefore, the balance looks like this: we are recovering, but due to the increase in consumption in cold weather, the situation may remain at the current level. This is a scenario that I even called optimistic,” she concluded.

It is also important to remember that there is a risk that Russia may leave any Ukrainian city without electricity if it strikes a concentrated blow, even in the presence of air defense.

Restoring the energy infrastructure is critically important for stabilizing life in Ukraine. According to experts, properly completing this process may take some time, but the hope for its success attracts new resources and investments. Citizens and businesses must remain prepared for the challenges that may arise during the winter period, especially in light of possible attacks from the aggressor.
