The price of electricity may rise twice more — statement by the deputy.
Ukraine is preparing its energy system for winter, as Russian attacks have left only 5% of thermal electricity, which is just 27% of the total volume.
Volodymyr Moroz, a deputy from the 'Renewal of Ukraine' group, stated this on the air of Vecher.LIVE.
According to him, Ukraine is now restoring energy because only 5% of thermal electricity remains due to enemy shelling.
"The Ministry of Energy will report on the state of affairs, I do not want to engage in PR. However, we have now restored the operation of nuclear power plants to 100%, which provide about 55% of electricity," he said.
Moroz added that by the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine was producing about 55 gigawatts of electricity, but has now lost more than half.
According to Moroz, electricity tariffs may rise for citizens to 6-7 hryvnias, and for enterprises to 11-12 hryvnias.
The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities will make a decision on this increase.
"It's very insidious, very insidious, because people won't be able to bear it," Moroz stated.
