Espresso in Ukraine costs already 41 hryvnias: where to find the cheapest and most expensive coffee

According to ТСН: In December 2025, the average price of a cup of espresso in Ukraine reached 41 hryvnias, which is 17% more compared to December 2024 when espresso cost 35 hryvnias. Due to the full-scale war, the price of this popular coffee drink has nearly doubled.

Interesting data is provided by Opendatabot. The highest price for espresso is in the Lviv region, where the average cost for a cup is 47 hryvnias, which is 19% more than last year. Lviv has become the leader in the 'coffee ranking' for the first time in recent years, overtaking the traditional favorite Odesa, where a cup of espresso costs an average of 45 hryvnias.

Regional prices for espresso

The cheapest espresso can be tasted in Khmelnytskyi region – 33 hryvnias for a cup, although here the price has also increased by 18% over the year. In Zaporizhia and Kirovohrad regions, the price of a cup of coffee is close to 35 hryvnias.

Sumy, which is on the front line, recorded the largest annual growth in the price of espresso – +26%. However, the average price there is still lower than the national average – 36 hryvnias. Last year, this region was also noted for its low coffee prices.

Espresso is the basis for many coffee drinks, so its price significantly affects the cost of other drinks in cafes.

It has been previously noted that at the beginning of 2026, Ukrainians will face an ambiguous price situation: some vegetables and high-fat dairy products will decrease in price, while bread, eggs, and greenhouse vegetables will continue to rise in price. The main factors that influence prices remain the cost of electricity, weather conditions, and the real purchasing power of the population, experts say.

These changes in espresso prices not only reflect the overall economic situation in the country but also may influence consumers' decisions regarding coffee selection and consumption. In the context of rising prices, it is important to monitor market trends as they may significantly change Ukrainian consumers' habits in the near future.
