Comparison of vegetable prices in Ukraine

According to inkorr.com: In September, Ukrainians can familiarize themselves with the price differences for potatoes, onions, and carrots offered in both supermarkets and markets. Data from the Minfin portal and the Capital Market show significant fluctuations in vegetable prices depending on the point of sale.

The monitoring indicated that the average price for potatoes in supermarkets is 16.43 UAH per kilogram. The lowest price is observed at the Metro chain – 15.70 UAH/kg, while at Megamarket prices are higher – 18.90 UAH/kg. In markets, the average price for potatoes is 13.00 UAH per kilogram, allowing savings of around 3.40 UAH per kg.

Interestingly, in August 2025, potato prices were even higher than in September. Onions in supermarkets have an average cost of 27.50 UAH per kilogram, while carrots show the smallest price difference among various points of sale. Observing price changes for products throughout the year is quite interesting.

The analysis of vegetable prices in Ukraine shows how the market changes depending on the season and trading strategies. This can significantly influence consumers' choices since by optimizing expenses, they can find better offers and save on daily purchases. Additionally, monitoring food prices can serve as an indicator of the overall economic state of the country.
