Potato prices in Ukraine in October

According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, potato prices in October, according to UkrAgroConsult, will remain low. It is forecasted that the price per kilogram may decrease to 10 hryvnias, although prices for many other products have increased this season. The Ukrainian Potato Growers Association notes that significant production of this vegetable will contribute to a decrease in prices.

'Potatoes will never be this cheap again, but I think we will see a price of 10 UAH per kilogram – such a price we will see. But only at the beginning of the season – in October,' remarked the expert.

Taras Bashtannyk from the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association also predicts that the decrease in potato prices is due to active cultivation among the population. The expert emphasizes that prices are falling against the backdrop of high figures from last year and due to favorable weather conditions for potato growth in various regions of Ukraine. At the same time, he says that these low prices may be temporary, as a shortage of vegetable storages is expected in November, which may lead to an increase in prices.

Prospects for a rise in potato prices

It is expected that in Ukraine in November, potato prices will rise again due to a lack of vegetable storages. However, in October, significant price decreases are expected. Increased production may lead to insufficient demand, which, in turn, will affect the reduction in prices for this product.

Thus, October may become a time for advantageous purchases for potato consumers. However, uncertainty regarding future prices and potential changes in storage conditions underline the importance of monitoring the market situation. Pronounced price fluctuations may affect household budgets, especially in the context of autumn spending on food.
