Savings on Vegetables and Fruits: Markets vs Supermarkets.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainians can save on vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms by choosing between markets and supermarkets. For example, cucumbers at markets are significantly cheaper than in store chains, where prices can be higher by several hryvnias per kilogram.
Prices for Vegetables
Cucumbers show the largest price gap. At markets, the average price is 95-105 hryvnias per kilogram, while in supermarkets the price reaches 168.90 hryvnias per kilo (smooth). The regular ones cost about 129.00 UAH/kg.
You can also save when buying tomatoes, mushrooms, apples, and pears. Prices at markets are often significantly lower than at supermarkets, where the cost of products can be much higher.
According to data from the Minfin portal and the Capital Market, careful choice of purchasing location can become the main argument for saving the family budget.
Given the current economic conditions, Ukrainians are increasingly paying attention to product prices. Rational decisions during purchases can significantly affect the family's financial situation, so it is worth considering the price difference between markets and supermarkets. The advantages of markets undoubtedly deserve the attention of consumers looking to make profitable purchases.
