Fuel Prices Across Ukraine
Compared to the national average prices for Ukraine, also recorded on March 12, premium A-95 gasoline costs 72.71 UAH/l, A-95 is 69.14 UAH/l, A-92 is 66.19 UAH/l, diesel is 74.37 UAH/l, and automotive gas is 41.97 UAH/l. These price fluctuations are a common concern for drivers and businesses in the region, impacting daily costs and logistics.
Experts have offered differing opinions on the potential for further price hikes. Serhiy Kuyun, Director of the consulting group 'A-95', suggested that the price of diesel could trend toward 80 UAH/l. In contrast, Member of Parliament Nina Yuzhanina stated:
'If the Antimonopoly Committee remains inactive, the price of gasoline in Ukraine could jump to 150 hryvnias per liter.' Nina Yuzhanina
However, Danylo Hetmantsev, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy, noted that there are currently no objective economic grounds for an increase in fuel costs.
The rising fuel costs in Lviv and across Ukraine point to a complex market situation, which may be driven by various factors such as shifts in global oil prices, currency exchange rate volatility, or domestic economic conditions. Monitoring fuel price trends is crucial for drivers, businesses, and the national economy, as changes can directly affect transportation expenses and inflation. The conflicting forecasts from analysts underscore the market's uncertainty and highlight the need for continued oversight by government authorities.
