Price Increase for Food Products in Ukraine

According to ТСН: Before the holidays, an increase in food prices in Ukraine is expected to be up to 10%. This price increase will be most felt in certain categories of goods that Ukrainians usually put on their festive table, such as meat, eggs, and dairy products.

Expert Oleg Pendzin noted that Ukrainians should prepare for another price increase in the second half of December.

"In the second decade of December, we will slowly see a slight increase in prices. What you will put on the festive table — eggs, dairy products, meat — will primarily become more expensive. It may rise in price by about 7-10%, and then drop again," Pendzin said.

He also expressed the opinion that after the winter holidays, prices for products in Ukraine may decrease.

"The human wallet is not rubber, it is limited. So you have your answer. Where will people get the money from?" — posed a rhetorical question the expert.

In addition, a gradual increase in prices for confectionery products is expected in Ukraine. The president of the association 'Ukrkondprom', Oleksandr Baldinyuk, predicts that the annual increase may reach around 15%. In particular, a significant rise in prices for confectionery products is expected during the holidays due to the traditional increase in demand.

The rise in prices for basic food products and confectionery will undoubtedly affect household expenses during the winter holidays. Consumers should consider these changes when planning the festive menu. The opinions of experts are also important, as they emphasize the limited financial capabilities of the population, which may affect consumer sentiment. However, the possible decrease in prices after the holidays gives hope that the situation may stabilize in the near future.
