Gasoline and auto gas prices have also climbed. Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar exchange rate moved from 42.3532 UAH/USD to 43.9497 UAH/USD.

Which foods have become more expensive? According to data, in January 2026, buckwheat cost 33.02 UAH per kilogram; by March 2026, it had jumped to 52.46 UAH per kilogram—a 59% increase. Apple prices rose from 31.46 UAH/kg to 45.78 UAH/kg (+46%). Tomatoes also saw a significant hike, climbing from 123.91 UAH/kg to 167.42 UAH/kg, a 35% rise. Several other staples have also seen major price increases:

  • Refined sunflower oil (Oleyna brand) from 68.17 UAH to 89.02 UAH per 850 ml (+31%)
  • Lightly salted herring from 190.77 UAH/kg to 246.06 UAH/kg (+29%)
  • Chicken eggs (Kvochka brand) from 68.59 UAH to 84.35 UAH per dozen (+23%)
  • Chicken thigh from 113.16 UAH/kg to 138.0 UAH/kg (+22%)
  • Pork brisket from 177.38 UAH/kg to 211.08 UAH/kg (+19%)
  • Cucumbers from 151.50 UAH/kg to 168.68 UAH/kg (+11%)

What is happening with fuel costs in Ukraine? Fuel prices are also on the rise. Premium A-95 gasoline increased from 63.16 UAH per liter to 73.22 UAH per liter (+17%), standard A-95 gasoline rose from 58.25 UAH/L to 69.69 UAH/L (+20%), and A-92 gasoline climbed from 56.60 UAH/L to 66.22 UAH/L (+17%). Auto gas prices went up from 37.90 UAH/L to 43.75 UAH/L (+15%), while diesel fuel saw a sharp increase from 58.28 UAH/L to 78.48 UAH/L (+35%).

How much has the dollar exchange rate risen in Ukraine? The rate has also changed: on January 1, 2026, it stood at 42.3532 UAH/USD; by March 18, 2026, it had risen to 43.9497 UAH/USD.
