The Guardian published an excerpt in which the Swedish referee talks about what he described as a 'humiliating' weight and body fat percentage test conducted in 2010 in Slovenia.
Elite referees were asked to undergo a standard medical check-up, during which, according to Eriksson, they had to undress to their underwear and get on the scales in front of Collina and several medical staff.
“When it came to weight and body fat tests, I felt nothing but disgust, anger, and humiliation. The problem was not with the tests themselves, but with how they were conducted,' Eriksson noted.
Eriksson continued, describing the details of the test during which referees had to stand in line in their underwear, receiving scores and looks from Collina.
“We stood in a long line, just in our underwear. We were the best referees in Europe, elite athletes, but no one protested,' he recalls.
Eriksson also noted that had he tried to object to Collina's methods, it could have ended his career.
