Zaporizhzhia District Court found a local resident guilty of creating and distributing materials that justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and glorified Russian occupiers. The man spread poems glorifying the enemy's seizure of Ukrainian cities.

This is stated in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

Case details

During the investigation, it was established that the accused, who works as a supply specialist at a private enterprise in Zaporizhzhia, created and transmitted his own texts — poems and messages — to the administrator of a pro-Russian Telegram channel. These works justified the aggression of the Russian Federation and idealized the actions of the occupying troops.

Among such works were poems titled 'For the liberation of Mariinka' and 'We have returned, and Avdiivka has been taken,' which, in particular, contained lines about the future seizure of new cities under the Russian flag.

The publications were accessible to an unlimited audience.

What the court decided

On the eve of the court, an agreement on pleading guilty was concluded between the prosecutor and the accused. The court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property.

However, the court exempted him from serving the sentence with a probation period of two years. The court also ordered the convicted man to pay over 22,000 UAH in procedural costs.

Earlier we informed that in Poltava region, a lyceum teacher distributed posts justifying the Russian Federation. He was brought to criminal responsibility.

And in Odesa region, the court found a woman guilty who collaborated with the occupiers' intelligence. She sent the enemy photos of Ukrainian military units and TCC.
