According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian citizens working in Poland are currently unable to apply for the CUKR card due to the absence of an online service for this from the Polish government. The main requirement is continuous residence in Poland as of June 4, 2025. Also, one must have UKR status on this date and for the 365 days preceding the application.

Application Submission Possibility

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Maciej Duszczyk, noted that the process for accepting applications for the CUKR card may start on January 1, 2026, however, this depends on the adoption of the relevant bill and its signing by the president. The bill concerning changes in regulations for foreigners is already under consideration in the Sejm, and details can be found on the official website.

Ukrainians’ Expectations

Ukrainians living and working in Poland hope for the possibility of obtaining the CUKR card. This will help them legalize their status and receive certain social benefits in the country of residence.

The CUKR card is set to be an important step for Ukrainians seeking stability in Poland. If the bill is passed, Ukrainians will be able not only to legalize their status but also to take advantage of social security benefits that will significantly improve their lives in a foreign country.
