According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska lost her first match at the US Open tournament. This was reported by the publication 'Glavcom'.
Yastremska became the second Ukrainian representative to participate in the US Open. Earlier, Yuliya Starodubtseva had already exited the court after losing to Russian player Anna Blinkova.
Yastremska's opponent in the first round was Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
The match started off tough for Yastremska – Pavlyuchenkova took an early lead of 3:1. However, the Ukrainian managed to equalize the score and bring the set to a tiebreak, where she won 7:6.
In the second set, the competition was again intense: the players exchanged won games and again reached a tiebreak. This time, Pavlyuchenkova proved to be stronger and equalized the set score.
