According to The Sun: Dana White dreams of creating an NFL equivalent in boxing, starting with a super-fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

White has successfully turned the UFC into a powerful platform for mixed martial arts and points out that boxing faces many challenges — from competing promoters to difficulties in cooperation.

White is currently collaborating with Turki Alalshikh from Saudi Arabia, who financially supports major boxing bouts.

As a promoter, White is organizing the fight between Canelo and Crawford, which will take place in Las Vegas, and has launched his own promotional company Zuffa Boxing.

“What we did with UFC is turn UFC into the NFL, into the NBA,” White said in an interview with Vegas PBS.

“There is a league, you invest in the sport, and others want to invest in it, whether it's sponsors or finance companies,” he added.

“This is what needs to be done with boxing, and this is what I’m trying to implement. I have no pride when I talk about trying to 'fix' boxing. It’s a broken sport.”

White co-promoted the fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather in 2017, which ended with the Irishman’s defeat in ten rounds.

The fight will take place at Allegiant Stadium, accommodating 65,000 spectators.

White also plans to develop talent in boxing, similar to his Contender series, which gives aspiring boxers a chance to earn a contract in the UFC.

“In 2026, I will start my show, which will be similar to the Contender Series,” White said.

“The best fighters will fight the best, undefeated fighters will fight undefeated fighters, and you will care about the first fight of the evening, not just the main event.”

“I will be creating stars, putting on great fights, and then these fighters will get a chance to compete with Sheikh Turki.”

Alalshikh helped unite previously feuding promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, who are now working together on the DAZN platform.

“I think the good thing is that there are many opportunities,” White added.

“Eddie Hearn is a great promoter. He is very successful and, in my opinion, a good guy. I really like him.”

“You have Frank Warren in the UK, who is also successful. We have alternatives, and we all must compete, trying to be better to attract the best talents.”

“I compete with the NFL, the NBA, big movie companies. Everything that distracts your attention on Saturday night - that’s my competition.”

“When I start getting into boxing, it will be a completely different world than MMA. I have been doing this for 25 years. 2026 will be my first year in boxing, so I look forward to the battle with Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren.”
