Gifts for the informal EU meeting
At the informal meeting of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council held on August 30 in Copenhagen, participants were presented with unusual gifts — pens made from Ukrainian shell casings collected on the battlefield. This was reported by Denmark's Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
'We Danes don't spend a lot of money on presidential gifts and all that sort of thing. But in front of you is a pen, and it’s not just any pen. It’s made from Ukrainian shell casings collected on the battlefield. So I hope you appreciate this small gift,' the minister emphasized.

Statements from ministers in Copenhagen
It should also be noted that in her speech before the EU Council meeting, Finland's Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen emphasized that European countries need to clearly understand that Russia poses a long-term threat and take appropriate measures.
This unusual gesture from Denmark not only underscores support for Ukraine but also serves as a timely reminder of the importance of European unity in the face of growing threats. The situation in the region requires EU countries to take active steps, and such initiatives can serve as a symbol of solidarity with Ukraine.
