Denmark allocated $36 million for the reconstruction of Mykolaiv region: project details.
According to inkorr.com: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, together with the Government of Denmark, is launching a long-term project 'Strategic Partnership for Mykolaiv'. According to the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, this project aims to restore the Mykolaiv region with a budget of over 36 million US dollars as part of Danish support for Ukraine.
Main Objectives of the Project
The main goal of the project is to improve living conditions for residents, facilitate the return and reintegration of people, and support the most vulnerable groups of the population. Three key areas of cooperation have been identified under the initiative:
- Strengthening local self-government;
- Improving housing conditions;
- Stimulating economic growth.
Humanitarian Demining and Gender Issues
In particular, special attention will be paid to humanitarian demining, which is critically important for restoring agricultural activities and ensuring overall safety in the region. The project also focuses on gender aspects, involving women in decision-making processes and improving access to services for all residents, including those living near the front line.
The Ukrainian United Nations Development Programme and the Government of Denmark joined forces to launch the 'Strategic Partnership for Mykolaiv region' project aimed at supporting the region.
