Poyet, who also played for 'Tottenham' from 2001 to 2004, cited his achievements including winning the League Cup against 'Chelsea'. He also facilitated the transfer of the team leader and future Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modric.

However, Poyet and Juande Ramos were sacked after the club earned only two points from eight matches in the Premier League.

The Uruguayan noted that Levy's decision came as a shock to him.

In an exclusive interview with Oddspedia, Poyet revealed that Levy informed him of his dismissal a day before the match against 'Bolton', after which he invited Harry Redknapp to take over as head coach.

Poyet, now the coach of South Korean club 'Jeonbuk', stated: “My attitude (towards Levy) was professional and very respectful. We had no issues. From the very beginning to the last day, he was honest with me.”

“It was strange how we went. We were sacked the day before the game. We were in the hotel.”

“We were ready to sleep and play the next day, and we were called down after 10 PM to be informed that we were sacked.

“It was a strange feeling when I left the hotel at 10:30 PM. It indicates that he was ruthless.”

“I felt unhappy leaving the hotel with my luggage. I was supposed to be thinking about the tomorrow's match and going home. It was strange.”

“If this had happened on Monday morning after the game, you would think, maybe, we would be sacked. But getting a call to the room, you might think something happened, maybe the game was canceled, but you never expect to be sacked the day before the game.”

When asked about Tottenham's future without Levy, Poyet added: “True Tottenham fans who come to matches at this wonderful new stadium know what he has done for the club. They complained and tried to change management. But deep down they understand that he has done great things.”

“You should be proud when you come to the best stadium in the country. You should be proud that your players train at one of the best training grounds in world football. So much has been done, and you need to acknowledge his contributions.”

“Let's give the new people two or three years to see if they can really do what they think Daniel Levy hasn't done.”

“So I would tell fans: thank you for what you've done and move on. Nothing more.”

Gus Poyet, true to his memories, shows how negatively the sacking affected his career. His story serves as a vivid example of the ruthlessness of the sports world, where decisions can be made without much thought. While the club continues to move forward, 'Tottenham' fans remain spectators of the changes that await them in the future.
