Changes in legislation on tenant rights
According to The Sun: Exact dates have been established when landlords will not be able to evict tenants from their homes without valid reasons. These changes are part of large-scale reforms that the government is implementing to improve tenant rights. The new provisions of the Tenant Rights Law will come into effect on May 1, 2026.
“These changes will help ensure fairer conditions for those renting housing,” said the ministers.
The initiative aims to create more favorable conditions for tenants, providing them with greater stability and confidence in their rights. It is expected that these changes will make the rental housing market more transparent and protective for tenants, which is especially important in the face of current challenges in the real estate market.
