Some prominent boxers were present at the ceremony, including Tyson Fury and Tony Bellew.

The 33-year-old Allen from Doncaster attended the tribute to the two-time world champion.

"I have always told the same story about Ricky. When I watched Floyd Mayweather's fight against Hatton at the age of 15, I knew nothing about boxing, didn’t even know the two," Allen said.

"About 11 or 12 years later I was on the bus and reading Metro. Ricky Hatton wrote a column in Metro saying: ‘My friend Dave Allen is fighting,’ and I was so proud. I couldn't believe that Ricky Hatton said I was his friend in the newspaper."

"I was really on cloud nine because he was a real legend of British boxing, but he was more than just boxing."

Allen also shared memories of his personal relationship with Hatton.

"I got to know him pretty well over the years, we met often. He always hugged me. After [Johnny] Fisher's last fight, I saw him in the hotel lobby, he kissed me on the head after the fight."

Ricky Hatton passed away in September at the age of 46.

His son Campbell gave a moving speech during the funeral at Manchester Cathedral.

"I was always an example for my father in all walks of life. My love for him was boundless," he said.
"I can't explain how much I will miss you, Dad."

The tribute to Ricky Hatton brought together many of his friends and boxing fans, highlighting his significance not only as an outstanding athlete but also as a person. He left a lasting impression in the hearts of many, and his contribution to boxing will hardly be forgotten. His memory lives on in the memories of his loved ones and those who knew him.
