The DBR revealed the scheme of wood procurement for the army: overpayment amounted to 431 thousand.
According to inkorr.com: The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) is conducting a case regarding the illegal scheme of wood supply for the military in Kherson. According to the investigation, officials from the housing and utilities department allowed an overpayment of more than 431 thousand hryvnias.
Violations during the tender
According to the DBR's information, the department's leadership concluded a contract for the supply of wood without the mandatory competition. This led to the selected company winning the tender, setting inflated prices.
'One of the subordinates adjusted the documents to ensure the victory of the entrepreneur with an inflated price. As a result, the contract was concluded for almost 2 million UAH, leading to an overpayment of more than 431 thousand UAH'
Legal consequences
The DBR has identified violations and initiated criminal proceedings against officials on suspicion of abuse of power. They face imprisonment for a term of up to six years. The case has already been submitted to court.
The investigation has shown that the actions of the employees of the housing and utilities department led to financial losses that posed a threat to the defense sector. Now the officials are waiting for the court's verdict for abuse of office.
This case underscores the importance of transparency and honesty in public procurement, especially in wartime conditions when every hryvnia is of great significance for ensuring the country's defense capability. The investigation is ongoing, and further details may shed light on the extent of this problem.
