When does the transfer window close this summer?
For Premier League and EFL clubs, the window will close at 19:00 on Monday, September 1st.
This means the window will close four hours earlier than usual at 23:00, which everyone in England is accustomed to.
With such an early deadline this year, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1 clubs will also follow suit.
Why has the deadline changed?
The changes were introduced to create more normal working conditions for staff in football.
This decision was unanimously supported by the Premier League, EFL, and FA.
Typically, clubs have a two-hour period to complete transfers if documents are submitted to the FA by 19:00.
When it comes to signings from abroad, clubs usually have until midnight to meet FIFA requirements.
This year's transfer window takes on special significance due to changes in deadlines and record spending, which could significantly impact the course of the season. For teams actively strengthening, these transfers could be decisive in the battle for the title or a place in European competitions. As such an active window comes to a close, it will be interesting to observe developments in the Premier League and other European leagues.
