According to The Sun: Deontay Wilder may be interested in an unexpected fight against Dave Allen if the British boxer manages to defeat Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Allen will face the 6-foot-6 Makhmudov at the arena in Sheffield this Saturday, marking the biggest fight of his career.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has named former WBC champion Wilder as a potential opponent if Allen manages to surprise everyone by winning against the 18 STONE Russian.

Wilder, who is represented by Hall of Fame member Shelly Finkel, confirmed to SunSport that they are ready to consider an offer if Allen wins his fight against Makhmudov.

The 39-year-old Wilder returned to winning ways in June, defeating unknown Tyrrell Herndon. This came after two defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.

This led to a loss of an opportunity to fight Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, but Finkel noted that AJ remains their primary target for 2026.

Allen, for his part, refuses to even think about a fight against Wilder until he overcomes Makhmudov.

“I am scared of Saturday, I am scared! I can't even think about Wilder. I am scared. I hope he is not too big.”

“I see this from the outside, and it's hard for me. But we know how to defeat him.”

Hearn's Comments

“If Dave Allen defeats Makhmudov, he opens himself up to big fight opportunities. Personally, I would like a fight with Deontay Wilder. We have reached out to Shelly Finkel for discussion, but first, let's see what happens on October 11.”
