A Member of Russian State Duma Threw a Fit over Russian Footballers Being Listed on the 'Myrotvorets' Database.
Russian State Duma Deputy Dmitry Svishchev reacted very negatively to the news that footballers, coaches, and leaders of "Zenit" and CSKA football clubs were added to the "Myrotvorets" database.
He called this action by his neighbors "absolutely stupid and cynical," and also noted that "Myrotvorets" has long been of no interest to anyone. He expressed the opinion that sanctions against Ukrainians hardly worry Russians.
Let us remind you that the leaders, coaches, and footballers of CSKA and "Zenit" were added to the "Myrotvorets" website's database due to their participation in a propaganda event before the 8th round match of the Russian Championship. This event was organized by the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation and aimed at providing assistance to Russian occupiers and their families.
All the footballers went to the match, holding the hands of the children of Russian occupiers.
Former Ukrainian national team footballer Anatoliy Tymoshchuk joined the help to Russian occupiers. He donated his autographed jersey to auction organizers who are collecting funds for the Russian army. Tymoshchuk's jersey was sold for 700 thousand rubles (approximately $7500).
On the jersey, one can notice the autograph of the traitor footballer, as well as a mark for the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Siege of Leningrad. These funds will be directed to the Kursk region.
Four Russian footballers received certificates from the Russian Ministry of Defense for "providing humanitarian aid and delivering necessary property for fulfilling combat tasks regarding the liberation of new territories of Russia." The players were praised by Russian State Duma Deputy Svetlana Zhurova.
She noted those people who provide assistance but do not advertise it and stated that charitable help is most often given anonymously. She is also concerned that this help will attract the attention of the entire country.
