Accusations against Tymoshchuk of 'homelessness'

Journalists from the Megogo service called former Ukrainian national football player Anatoliy Tymoshchuk 'Homeless Number 4' as he is in Russia.

Before the start of the playoff match of the Nations League between Belgium and Ukraine, the Megogo service displayed statistics about Ukrainian national team players who scored two goals after coming on as substitutes.

In 2010, during a game against Canada, Artem Milevsky and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk also came off the bench and scored one goal each.

It was under number 4 that Tymoshchuk played for the Ukrainian national team.

Tymoshchuk has been working as an assistant to the head coach in the Zenit coaching staff since 2017 and has remained in Russia.

He has not commented on Russia's aggression following the invasion.

At the end of 2022, he referred to Russia's war against Ukraine as a 'special military operation' and claimed that he sees no difference between the Ukrainian and Russian peoples.

He also ended up on the sanctions list of public figures of the National Security and Defense Council.

Tymoshchuk participated in the memorial match for Illia Tsymbalar. The widow of Tsymbalar, Iryna, and his son Serhiy opposed holding this match in Moscow, as Russia was striking missiles and drones in Odesa and other cities.

Tymoshchuk also supported the Russian occupiers by donating his autographed shirt for an auction that raised funds for the Russian army. The shirt was sold for 700,000 rubles.

The shirt featured the colors of the blockade ribbon in memory of the victims of the Leningrad blockade, and the proceeds from the sale will go to aid the Kursk region.

The playing jersey of 'Zenit' bears Tymoshchuk's autograph.
