Deputy and his son-official arranged a fight with military personnel in a cafe: footage from cameras.
According to ТСН: In the city of Konotop in the Sumy region, a regional council deputy along with his son, who is the deputy head of the village council, became participants in a fight with military personnel at a public catering establishment.
The incident occurred on December 28 last year. According to information from the Sumy region police, the suspects grossly violated public order, which led to a conflict that escalated into a fight with two visitors.
“During the scuffle, the deputy hit one of the men with a chair, the other suspect, who is the deputy head of one of the villages in the Konotop district, broke a glass over the head of the victim. As a result, the man sustained medium severity bodily injuries,” the police reported.
The Sumy regional prosecutor's office also published video footage from surveillance cameras that captured the moment of the fight.
On January 9, the regional prosecutor informed the deputy of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). Since the deputy was hiding from the investigation, the suspicion was announced in absentia.
The deputy's son was personally handed the suspicion.
It is worth recalling that earlier in Ternopil, New Year celebrations in the company of young people ended in a fight, as a result of which a 16-year-old girl ended up in the hospital with numerous injuries.
This incident highlights the problems with public order in regions, where conflicts between people, even representatives of the authorities, can lead to serious consequences. It is important for law enforcement agencies to respond to such situations to prevent similar cases in the future.
