Ukraine can pay 22 billion UAH in green energy debts: what will change.
According to inkorr.com: Yevhen Korf, director of LLC NVP 'Energo-Plus', emphasized that repaying debts to investors in the renewable energy sector could be an important step in restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure. According to associations, the total debt to producers of 'green' electricity amounts to 22 billion UAH, with the largest underpayments recorded in 2022 and 2024. The debt of NPC 'Ukrenergo' to the company 'Guaranteed Buyer' is 16.3 billion UAH.
Korf noted that investors have turned to the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NERC) for help in resolving the debt issue, including regulating the mechanism for debt repayment and agreeing on a new calculation formula.
Plans for Reinvestment
The attracted funds are planned to be directed to new projects, as Ukrainian entrepreneurs take the restoration of the energy sector seriously. Investors hope for a clear strategy from the state that will assist in repaying debts for the electricity produced in 2022.
The material discusses the prospects for repaying debts for investors in Ukraine's renewable energy sector, citing relevant debt amounts and the officials to whom they are owed. It also describes the investors' appeal to competent authorities for help in resolving this issue, their plans for reinvesting the funds received, and hopes for cooperation with the state.
This situation highlights the importance of the involvement of state structures in supporting investors who aim to restore the energy sector of the country. In particular, resolving the debt issue could become the basis for further development of renewable energy in Ukraine, which, in turn, stimulates economic growth and energy independence.
