The State Consumer Service has detected violations in water supply: inspection results.
According to inkorr.com: In the first half of 2025, an inspection of the water supply system was conducted in Ukraine, revealing numerous problems. Inspectors from the State Consumer Service checked almost a thousand enterprises and over 7.7 thousand water supply facilities, finding violations of sanitary norms in 69% of them.
Violations of sanitary norms were found in 69% of the inspected water supply facilities (53288).
Currently, there are over 2610 enterprises in Ukraine that provide centralized drinking water supply, as well as 45337 various water supply facilities. Regarding wastewater systems, violations were found in 10 out of 42 inspected facilities.
Laboratory testing results
According to laboratory tests, out of 700 thousand water samples taken, over 23.5 thousand samples from centralized sources did not meet standards, as did about 1.2 thousand samples from non-centralized water supply. Overall, only 40% of the prescriptions to eliminate violations in water supply were executed.
The inspection of the water supply system in Ukraine revealed a significant number of violations of sanitary norms both at water supply facilities and in sewage systems. Laboratory studies confirmed that a large part of the water does not meet quality requirements. It is important for the government and responsible services to continue working on solving these problems to ensure citizens have access to quality and safe drinking water.
This situation underscores the necessity for continued monitoring and modernization of the water supply system in Ukraine. It is crucial that all responsible authorities work towards improving water quality, as the health and welfare of the population depend on it.
