In Germany, since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine, the danger of diversions and other hybrid threats has increased, likely linked to the Russian authorities. This was reported by the representative of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Sonia Kok. 'Our security agencies have information about diversions and other hybrid threats, which are likely connected to the Russian authorities. Thus, we can definitely state that the danger of diversions or similar actions, including from the Russian authorities, has significantly increased in Germany since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine. The degree of this danger also depends on the further development of Russia's aggressive war and Germany's support for Ukraine,' Kok said. She noted that the government and intelligence services of Germany see how 'aggressively and unscrupulously' Russia acts and are taking preventive measures to protect the country. Security agencies have already prevented a number of possible acts involving explosives aimed at German military support for Ukraine. 'We have always emphasized that we will do everything in our power to thwart such plans and protect our country from Russian espionage, diversions, and cyberattacks,' Kok added. She also mentioned that Russian intelligence services have recently been weakened due to the expulsion of many agents, and German intelligence services are closely monitoring the recruitment of individuals who are 'low-level agents.' German media conducted an investigation that revealed possible diversions using incendiary devices in DHL courier parcels. This investigation is linked to the Russian GRU. Individuals suspected of being involved in these acts were used as 'disposable agents.' European security agencies believe that these operations involve a network of about 10 people, some of whom may be high-ranking GRU officials.
