Up to 3500 zlotys to return home: Ukrainians in Poland can apply for new aid.
Poland has begun accepting applications for participation in two support programs for Ukrainians with PESEL UKR status who live in collective accommodation centers. The programs are called Wspólnie do niezależności and are implemented in various voivodeships across the country, reports yavp.pl.
Polish Red Cross (PCK) Program
This program operates in nine voivodeships of Poland, including Lower Silesian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lublin, Lodz, Masovian, Opole, Subcarpathian, Pomeranian, and Swietokrzyskie. Under this program, Ukrainian citizens residing in collective accommodation centers can receive financial assistance to cover moving expenses, housing rental, purchasing furniture or equipment, as well as help in resolving formal issues related to rental. The program also provides payments for a period of up to six months.
Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) Foundation Program
This program is implemented in seven voivodeships: Silesian, Lesser Poland, Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Greater Poland, West Pomeranian, and Lubusz. As with the first program, Ukrainians will receive assistance to cover housing rental costs, moving, and other related expenses. The program also includes support for integration, including Polish language courses, professional courses, assistance with enrolling children in schools and kindergartens, as well as access to medical services.
Funding Conditions
The maximum amount of payments to cover housing rental depends on the number of family members and is:
- Room for 1 person - up to 1,000 zlotys,
- Apartment/house for 1-2 people - up to 2,200 zlotys,
- Apartment/house for 3-4 people - up to 2,800 zlotys,
- Apartment/house for 5 or more people - up to 3,500 zlotys.
Funding is distributed over six months, starting with covering 100% of the cost in the first month and reducing the amount to 30% in the sixth month.
Registration in Programs
To participate in the Polish Red Cross program, you can fill out an online application or download a form to submit by mail. Online registration is also available for participation in the PCPM program. Details and applications for participation in the programs can be found on the official websites of the respective organizations.
We remind you that from October 2024, Ukrainian families with children who were forced to move to Poland after the start of the full-scale invasion will be able to receive additional financial support. This new aid program aims to facilitate adaptation and ensure a more stable life for Ukrainian refugees in Poland. However, to take advantage of these opportunities, certain criteria must be met.
