From 2026, the cost of a pension month will increase: how much the experience will become more expensive

According to ТСН: Starting from January 1, 2026, changes will be introduced to the minimum payment for the "purchase" of a month of experience.

The Pension Fund notes that the minimum insurance contribution will amount to 22% of the minimum wage. Thus, from January 1, 2026, to account for one full month of insurance experience, it will be necessary to pay 1,902.34 UAH. This means that citizens who have insufficient experience or wish to increase it will have to pay 142 UAH more for each "purchased" month. If the contribution is less than the established minimum, this period will not be credited to the experience.

The Pension Fund also reminded that the minimum insurance contribution is a calculated figure that directly depends on the minimum wage, so it may change annually according to budget indicators.

Conditions for Retirement

To retire at 65, every citizen must have at least 15 years of insurance experience, which includes only those periods of work for which contributions were paid. Those who lack the minimum insurance experience can purchase full months of experience or pay for crediting incomplete months of work as complete.

We remind you that after 2004, only those months for which contributions were paid are credited to the insurance experience.

Thus, the innovations concern not only the pension rights of citizens but also the financial burden on them. In conditions of rising prices, it is important to pay attention to changes in minimum contributions, as this may affect personal financial planning and preparation for retirement. For now, the country is preparing for changes, and citizens should be attentive to details to avoid problems in the future.
