Domino’s Introduces New Pizzas Inspired by Indian Cuisine

According to The Sun: The popular pizza chain in the UK has announced significant updates to its menu, inspired by beloved dishes. Now, Domino’s offers two new pizzas and one new side as part of its seasonal update.

The new dishes from Domino’s have Indian roots. The company notes that a third of Britons consume Indian food once a week, and chicken tikka masala is considered a national dish of the UK. Domino’s has decided to join this trend by presenting three new offerings.

Menu Highlights

The first new offering is the Ultimate Gunpowder Chicken Pizza, made with slow-roasted chicken thigh, seasoned with green peppers, cumin, and coriander, topped with crunchy jalapeños.

The new Ultimate Gunpowder wings will also delight customers. Each pack includes seven whole wings prepared with a unique spice blend.

Vegetarians will also find something interesting - the Ultimate Masala Paneer Pizza. In this variant, paneer chunks are marinated in tikka methi paste and baked in the oven. Both pizzas are drizzled with delicious mozzarella and sun-dried tomato sauce.

Management Comments

Louisa Pilkington, Domino’s Director of Innovation, emphasized:

“We know that September can feel a bit gloomy – summer is over, and winter holidays have not yet begun. That’s why we created something special, bringing the best of Indian cuisine straight to your home.”

The new range of dishes was developed by Aakash Patel and Marek Biely, managers of Domino’s stores in Bermondsey and Greenwich respectively, after winning the DomiChef competition.

This competition allows Domino’s employees to pitch their ideas for new pizzas to a panel of judges.

Aakash noted that he wanted to bring unforgettable flavors from his childhood to the Domino’s menu. He and Marek spent several months refining the recipes.

Interestingly, the company recently removed one of its most popular dishes - the Ultimate Chicken Mexicana Pizza, which had been introduced in 2023. A brand representative stated:

“Despite its popularity, we are always looking for opportunities to add new tasty dishes.”

The new Indian dishes from Domino’s indicate the growing interest of Britons in Indian cuisine. With the launch of these new offerings, the company is attempting to respond to consumer requests and diversify its menu by offering a variety of flavors. This also highlights the importance of local culinary traditions in modern dining.
