Ukrainians are shown how prices for popular vegetables in supermarkets and markets change.

According to the Minfin portal, prices for cucumbers, tomatoes, and cabbage can vary between supermarkets and markets, and also depend on the season. Usually, these vegetables are cheaper on markets, especially during the harvest season. In supermarkets, prices are generally higher, but the assortment is stable throughout the year. Below is shown how much they cost as of September 15 in supermarkets and markets of Kyiv and Odesa.

Supermarkets

The cost of cucumbers compared to previous months has already increased. On average, they can be bought for 72.99 UAH/kg. For example, smooth ones cost 81.80 UAH/kg, long ones – 84.99 UAH/kg. Spiny cucumbers can be bought for 72.00 UAH/kg.

Prices at the Stolichny Market

Here, a kilogram of cucumbers can be purchased cheaper than in supermarkets - for 60 UAH/kg. However, the maximum price there reaches 75 UAH/kg.

Prices at the Odesa market "Pochatok"

The average cost of Ukrainian cucumbers is from 45 UAH/kg to 50 UAH/kg.

The price tag for red tomatoes ranges from 18.00 UAH/kg to 20.00 UAH/kg. Cherry tomatoes are sold for 30.00 UAH/kg. The price tag for yellow tomatoes ranges from 30.00 UAH/kg to 100.00 UAH/kg.

The price for young cabbage starts at 7 UAH/kg and goes up to 30.00 UAH/kg.
