A Fox Crosses the Track at the Dutch Grand Prix: How the Animal Affected Qualifying.
Preparing for the Dutch Grand Prix Race
According to The Sun: Oscar Piastri established himself in qualifying, securing pole after a fox was spotted on the track in Zandvoort.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc saw the animal during the second round of qualifying and reported over the radio:
“There was a fox at turn 10. I think it’s leaving the track.”X/ F1
The fox managed to leave the track unharmed. This is not the first time animals have disrupted racing: last year at the Singapore track, it was a lizard, and in Canada - a groundhog.
Lewis Hamilton was shocked when he encountered a groundhog in Canada this year, while Pierre Gasly caused a delay by hitting a rabbit in Imola. Verstappen also avoided a confrontation with a groundhog in Canada last year.
Qualifying Results
Lando Norris dominated throughout qualifying but ultimately finished second as Piastri overtook him at a key moment in another McLaren car.
Max Verstappen also had a strong performance, finishing third in his home race. Lewis Hamilton placed seventh, behind Leclerc, who finished sixth.
British driver George Russell concluded qualifying in fifth place for Mercedes, trailing rookie Isaac Hadjar, who claimed fourth place.
Piastri's performance was a serious warning for Norris, as he recorded the best sector time in Q3 for the first time.
Verstappen was thrilled, exclaiming over the radio:
“This is dangerous from McLaren. Damn!”, as he approached the slowly moving Norris in Q2 during the final quick lap. However, the stewards ignored his complaint.

Norris set a record with the fastest lap time of 1:08.874, two tenths quicker than Verstappen in Q2.
For Lance Stroll, the weekend took a turn for the worse following a dramatic collision during practice on Friday: he was speeding in Q1, brushed the grass at turn 13, and spun into the gravel.
The Canadian Aston Martin driver expressed his frustration over the radio, exclaiming
“Damn!”, as his front wing and tires were destroyed, and he had to return the car to the pits. id='6377427961112' data-video-id='6377427961112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.6:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>
