Two American tourists go on a spacewalk for the first time in history (video).
Two crew members of the American Crew Dragon spacecraft, which is in orbit with four tourists, went on a spacewalk, SpaceX reported.
This is the first private spacewalk by non-professional astronauts in the history of missions. Billionaire Jared Isaacman and SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis ventured into the cosmic vacuum.
They exited the Crew Dragon spacecraft at 06:12 Eastern US Time (13:12 Kyiv time) at an altitude of over 700 km above Earth. This spacewalk will last approximately two hours.
Aboard besides Isaacman and Gillis are pilot Scott (Kidd) Poteet and medic Anna Menon.
For this operation, the Crew Dragon's cabin was depressurized, and the crew donned spacesuits designed by SpaceX.

The Polaris Dawn mission is the first of three planned missions in the Polaris program, funded by the head of Shift4 Payments, Jared Isaacman. It was delayed due to project development delays.
The launch of the Falcon 9 rocket with the Crew Dragon spacecraft took place on Tuesday from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The space tour for tourists will last five days, during which they will conduct 36 scientific experiments dedicated to the impact of space and radiation on human health.
During the mission, the Crew Dragon spacecraft made six orbits around the Earth at an altitude of 1400 km, which became the highest flight since the Apollo lunar program more than 50 years ago. It then descended to an orbit of 742 km to prepare for the non-professional astronauts' spacewalk.
Recall that on September 12, two crew members of the Crew Dragon spacecraft will go on a spacewalk as part of the Polaris Dawn mission. This is the first private spacewalk by non-professional astronauts in history, which will be performed by billionaire Jared Isaacman and SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis.
