According to The Sun: The EFL team player received a five-month ban after being found guilty of betting violations.
Walsall club player Jamie Jellis placed 2,248 bets on football matches from April 30, 2019, to July 4, 2023.
GettyJellis admitted his guilt, and he received a five-month ban.
In a statement from the FA, it said:
“The independent regulatory commission imposed sanctions on Jamie Jellis from Walsall for improper conduct related to FA betting rule violations. It was alleged that the midfielder breached FA rule E1(b) by placing 2,248 bets on football matches between April 30, 2019, and July 4, 2023, and subsequently admitted his guilt.'
“The regulatory commission imposed a five-month ban on all football and football-related activities, which is suspended for 12 months, a fine of £1,200 and a warning after the hearing.”
The Walsall club responded to the decision with a brief statement. It reads:
“We would like to thank the PFA for their support of Jamie and the club throughout this process. The club will not make any further comments on this matter.”
