Allegations of Budget Fund Misappropriation
According to Novyny.live: In Kyiv, a former official of the municipal enterprise 'Kyivzelenbud' has been formally notified of suspicion for embezzling over 1.1 million UAH in public funds during a park renovation. The renovation took place in the Dnipro district of the capital, where a tender for repair work was announced on Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky Street. This case highlights ongoing efforts to curb corruption in Ukraine's public procurement system.
According to available information, the contract for the work was valued at more than 18 million UAH. Investigators allege that the suspect artificially inflated the cost of construction materials, leading to the charges. The suspicion notice was issued under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Penalties and Investigation
The penalties under this article include up to 12 years in prison and possible confiscation of assets. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Dnipro Police Department of Kyiv in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine.
