Former Odesa Military Recruitment Chief Puiko Declares BMW X5 and Over 2 Million in Income.
Yurii Puiko's Post-Resignation Asset Declaration
According to Novyny.live: Yurii Puiko, the former head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, has released his post-resignation declaration, detailing his family's income, real estate holdings, a BMW X5 vehicle, and substantial cash savings. This disclosure comes amid ongoing efforts to increase transparency among Ukrainian officials.
The bulk of Puiko's household income stems from his salary at Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, which exceeds 2.1 million hryvnias. Additional earnings listed include:
- 341,300 hryvnias in monetary allowance from the regional recruitment center;
- 366,000 hryvnias in pension payments;
- 407,400 hryvnias in wages earned by his wife, Nataliia Nikitaieva, at Chernivtsi City Polyclinic No. 2.
The declaration also reveals that Puiko purchased a 2014 BMW X5 for 500,000 hryvnias in July 2025. He additionally owns a 2-hectare plot of land acquired in 2020. In 2024, his wife bought a 380-square-meter land parcel in the village of Ustia, Khmelnytskyi region. The couple also holds a 24-square-meter garage in Chernivtsi, registered under Nikitaieva's name.
Real Estate and Financial Assets
Regarding property, Puiko declared:
- a 59-square-meter apartment purchased in 2022;
- a 40-square-meter apartment acquired in 2023.
As for financial holdings, Puiko reported $18,000 USD and 1.7 million hryvnias in cash.
Puiko's military career began in 1997. He graduated from the Ivan Cherniakhovskyi National Defense University of Ukraine in 2018. In 2020, he ran for a seat on the Chernivtsi Regional Council but was not elected. He assumed the role of head of the Odesa Regional Recruitment Center in 2024.
The publication of Puiko's post-resignation declaration marks a significant step in promoting transparency and accountability among Ukrainian public servants.
The substantial income and assets disclosed are likely to draw public and law enforcement scrutiny, as officials' financial data remains under close watch. This could also shape Puiko's future career prospects, both locally and nationally, especially given his previous bid for political office.
