The Energy System of Ukraine on the Brink of Collapse: What Awaits the Heating Season.
According to inkorr.com: The heating season in Ukraine is becoming extremely difficult due to the war. Experts warn of serious problems in the country's energy system. This winter has been survived with great difficulty, particularly due to frequent power outages. The next year may prove critical if the conflict continues.
Famous energy specialist Viktor Kurtev noted that Ukraine had to exhaust all possibilities for stable system operation. He emphasizes the serious inconveniences that may arise for Ukrainians.
“We will get through this season. With certain inconveniences... they could have been avoided had we reacted correctly,” Kurtev noted, emphasizing that daily power outages last up to eight hours a day.
The expert believes that this year's season is critical, and the system is functioning at the edge of its capabilities, which is the last chance for Ukraine to withstand the existing load.
Forecasts for the Future
According to experts, if the war continues next year, then the energy system of Ukraine may become non-functional next winter. At the same time, Kurtev believes that this scenario will not happen since both sides of the conflict are significantly exhausted. He hopes that a collapse of the energy system and other metallurgical sectors by February may serve as a push for peaceful resolution.
“I believe that both sides will not withstand continuing the conflict. Therefore, if we survive this winter, combat actions need to stop and a compromise must be sought,” the expert predicts.
Kurtev also notes that the next year will be a period of 'another reality' for Ukraine and Russia.

The words of experts indicate that indecisiveness may lead to serious consequences, and efforts to stabilize this situation are extremely important. Thus, hopes for a compromise and peaceful resolution of the conflict remain relevant to ensure the energy security of the country in the future.
