Expert names key factors for the return of Ukrainian refugees home.
Senior researcher at the Institute of Demography and Social Studies, Oleksiy Pozniak, claims that for the return of Ukrainian refugees home, they need to have job opportunities and receive a decent salary. This will enable them to reach a certain economic threshold, where salaries in Ukraine will amount to about 70% of the salaries in the country where the refugees are currently located. It is also important to address the housing issue, which complicates the return of refugees. However, Pozniak sees potential in future investments that may facilitate the return of Ukrainians and attract workers from other countries. Currently, discussions are underway about the prospects of post-war recovery in Ukraine, which could assist in the reintegration of refugees into the domestic economy.
