Expert Kurtev on the Difficult Winter in Ukraine: What Awaits the Energy System.
Forecast for the Winter Period
According to inkorr.com: Energy expert Viktor Kurtev expressed a pessimistic forecast regarding the upcoming winter, emphasizing the ongoing attacks on energy infrastructure. In his opinion, Ukraine faces a 'harsh winter' that could lead to social tension and force the government to look for scapegoats for the problems in the energy sector.
Kurtev noted that Russian assaults are focused on the energy 'interface' through the Dnipro, intending to cut off the left-bank part of Ukraine from electricity supply from the right bank. This poses a threat to major cities, including Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia. He also highlighted that energy conditions in western Ukraine may be even worse.
'Winter will be tough. Social tension will be escalating,' - warned the expert.
According to Kurtev, the government will be forced to respond to the growing dissatisfaction among the population due to emergencies. The expert criticized the effectiveness of the current management system in wartime and missile attack conditions, suggesting a shift to a new mobilization type of energy and economy.
Kurtev also warns of possible serious problems in the energy system that could lead to social tension and require corresponding actions from the authorities.
In light of these forecasts, it is essential that Ukrainians are prepared for potential challenges that the country will face in the winter period. The authorities and energy companies must work on strengthening infrastructure and implementing measures to minimize the consequences of energy crises. Dependence on energy resources and ensuring warmth in homes will be the main priorities for the government and society as a whole.
