Car Tinting in Ukraine: Expert Names a Surprising Danger for Drivers.
According to inkorr.com: Poor street lighting can create additional dangerous situations for drivers and pedestrians, especially if there is tint film on automotive glass, particularly the windshield.
Automotive expert Oleksandr Fedchenko urged drivers to remove the tint film to ensure the safety of themselves and other road participants.
According to Fedchenko, full tinting of cars, including the windshield, is not advisable in Ukraine compared to most European countries, as it worsens visibility, especially at night.
Risks and Recommendations
The expert also noted that tinted glass can reduce light penetration from vehicle headlights by 35-55%, complicating the timely detection of pedestrians, especially in darkness. This creates a danger even on well-lit streets, and during blackouts, the risks increase even more.
Fedchenko recommends that drivers seriously consider road safety and remove the tint film. He emphasized that making changes to the vehicle for trips to EU countries can become problematic due to restrictions on such modifications in vehicles.
Drivers in Ukraine should take these recommendations into account since it concerns not only their safety but also the well-being of other road participants.
The introduction of stricter requirements for lighting and visibility on the road underscores the importance of adhering to safety rules. Given the existing issues with street lighting, drivers must consider the risks that tinted glass can create and take measures to enhance their visibility on the road.
