Emma Raducanu suffered a crushing defeat at the US Open: match result.

Although both players had previously played together in doubles and share friendly relations, this time Rybakina clearly dominated.
Famous fashion designer Anna Wintour watched the match as Raducanu, dressed in her favorite red color, faced defeat before lunchtime for most New Yorkers.
This year, Raducanu has not managed to get past any Grand Slam tournaments, losing to Major champions: Iga Swiatek (Australian Open and Roland Garros) and Aryna Sabalenka (Wimbledon).
Particularly harsh was the loss to the Polish player — 6-1 6-0 in Melbourne in January, which many consider the worst of her career.
Currently ranked 34th in the world, Raducanu aims to be among the top 32 seeds before the Australian Open in 2026 to avoid facing a big name in the early stages.
Defeat Under Pressure
This week, Raducanu showcased good serving, but it was against two qualified players from Asia - Ena Shibahara and Yanis Tien, whom she defeated in less than 62 minutes.
However, the match against Rybakina was a significant test. Despite a not-so-great record at the US Open, the Kazakh tennis player impressed with her precise play.
22-year-old Raducanu suffered defeat for the first time in this tournament as Rybakina displayed confident baseline attack.
Rybakina, who is 26, left Raducanu no opportunities to act in the cooler environment of Flushing Meadows, where there are no harsh playing conditions.
Rybakina controlled the flow of the match, opening the score in the second game of the sixth stage of the first set.
Raducanu had no paths for attack, and it was only 27 minutes later, despite guidance from coach Francisco Roig, that she was already losing the set.
Even when Emma tried to find weaknesses in Rybakina's game, her opponent responded with powerful serves.
After trouble-free matches, she had to face a real challenge at the Grand Slam tournament, as Rybakina delivered 11 winning shots, six of which were forehands.
In the second set, the situation worsened, and although leading 40-0, Raducanu was broken by the 9th-seeded opponent.
Roig, former coach of Rafael Nadal, urged: “the ball is heavy,” but it no longer mattered when her opponent was hitting with such speed.
At Louis Armstrong Stadium, named after the famous jazz musician, Raducanu was left hopeless.
Her participation in the tournament ended in just 62 minutes — it was her quickest defeat at Grand Slam tournaments.
