Expert Tips on Appliances
Mark Porkar, a maintenance expert for QR code generators, shared his tips on reducing costs associated with these appliances.
Tumble Dryer - £109.35 per year
According to the expert, tumble dryers account for around 12% of the average energy bill.
"The high water and electricity usage for heating, combined with the lengthy cycles, make these appliances expensive to run," he explained.
He revealed that an average annual consumption of 425 kWh will cost you about £109.35.
To reduce servicing costs, Mark recommends washing in cold water and running full loads.
He also suggested using appliances during off-peak times between 11 PM and 8 AM, when electricity is usually cheaper.
Mark advised homeowners to check with their energy provider, as optimal usage times may vary.
Clothes Airer - £99.83 per year
Meanwhile, dryers account for about 11% of the average household energy bill.
According to the expert, this is due to the need for intensive power to heat and effectively dry clothes.
Mark revealed that the average annual use of 388 kWh will cost you £99.83.
To avoid this, he recommends using heated clothes airers, dehumidifiers, or drying outdoors as much as possible.
