Closure of Tomato Energy
AN energy supplier has gone bust after building up huge debts and being hit with a £1.5million fine from the regulator. The energy company Tomato Energy, which served 15,300 households and 8,400 businesses, has announced its closure. The electricity supplier was barred from acquiring new customers since April, when its debt reached £3 million. Financial difficulties led the company to be unable to continue its operations. Customers of Tomato Energy are advised to find a new supplier, as the company will no longer be able to provide its services. The closure of Tomato Energy is yet another testament to the challenging situation in the energy supply market, which has recently led to the bankruptcy of many companies. Consumers are advised to pay attention to available alternatives to avoid disruptions in electricity supply.
