According to The Sun: The match between the junior teams of England and Venezuela, taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, was halted for 50 minutes due to racist abuse directed at a player of the England national team.

After the incident, the England team, led by Liam Bramley, left the field, and 16-year-old Chelsea player Matis Ebué was particularly upset.

The game eventually resumed, however, it faced two more interruptions, resulting in a total stoppage time of 50 minutes. Despite this, England managed to secure a 2-1 victory.

Following the match, the Football Association of Great Britain issued a statement confirming the facts of the racist abuse:

“We are aware of concerning reports of racism directed at England players during our U17 match against Venezuela that took place in Germany today.”

“This matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness, and our priority is to support our players and staff. We are in ongoing discussions with the tournament organizers and relevant authorities regarding further actions.”
