Erling Haaland tops the Dream Team rankings again: who are his closest pursuers.
Erling Haaland is again at the top of the Dream Team rankings
According to The Sun: Erling Haaland (£7.6m) has once again taken first place in the Dream Team rankings, and it doesn't seem like his position will change anytime soon.
Dream TeamHaving scored five goals for the Norwegian national team in their match against Moldova last week, this dazzling forward continued his scoring streak with two goals in the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Haaland earned 18 points when he was substituted on the pitch under the cheers of the audience, making him the best player of the fourth round.
Pep Guardiola's team repeatedly outplayed Ruben Amorim's defense at the Etihad, where Haaland struck the net twice, although he missed a unique three-yard chance in the 55th minute.
He also did not get an assist when Tidjane Rangers (£4.6m) failed to score while one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
However, for Dream Team managers, there’s no reason to be disappointed over missed points, as a player like Haaland, showing such productivity, ensures a confident win.
GettyThose who chose Haaland as captain instead of Mohamed Salah (£7.2m) can be pleased with the weekend's results. However, the situation may change on Wednesday when the Champions League group stage kicks off.
Liverpool will meet Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening, while Man City will host Napoli on Thursday.
Comparing Haaland and Salah is a common thing, as both started this season as the most expensive players in the Dream Team. Many managers thought they could only afford one of these superstars, and currently, Haaland leads his Egyptian counterpart by 19 points.
At the moment, his closest competitors are Jurriën Timber (£4.9m) and Antoine Semenyo (£4.6m).

Haaland scored five goals in the first four matches of the season, and his total now stands at 11 goals in six games, including international matches.
The 25-year-old forward is the most popular player in the game, with 45.7% of managers tracking him, but more than half of them currently do not have him in their squads.
In the fifth round, Haaland faces a serious test in an away match at the Emirates, where his team will clash with Arsenal, known for its solid defense.
He may also rest in the Carabao Cup match against Huddersfield, which will take place three days later. Upcoming games, starting with the home game against Burnley, look extremely promising.
Haaland is typically a key player and is likely to take the captain's position in the upcoming rounds.
