New EU sanctions against Russia
The European Union plans to impose new restrictions against Russia due to increasing provocations and diversions, which, according to Financial Times, are organized by Russian intelligence under diplomatic cover. Among the planned measures is mandatory informing of EU governments about the crossing of borders by Russian diplomats. The Czech Republic has already initiated a return to the principle of reciprocity in this matter.According to inkorr.com: The head of the Czech Foreign Ministry, Jan Lipavský, noted:
“there is no 'Schengen for Russia'.”Previously, the Czech Republic imposed restrictions on Russian diplomats, but many of them continue to cross the borders of neighboring countries. Hungary also supports the introduction of new sanctions, but the final approval may be delayed due to discussions about restrictions on assets associated with Oleg Deripaska. Negotiations are currently ongoing.
The EU's plans for new sanctions are prompted by provocations and the diversionary activities of Russian agents in Europe, which may lead to restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats and additional control measures.
The implementation of these sanctions underscores the seriousness of the security situation in Europe and the EU countries' focus on protecting their sovereignty. In the current context of international relations, it is important to watch for developments and Russia's reaction to these new measures.Read also
