EU imports more gas from Russia than from the USA - Media.

According to Die Welt, the regime of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin managed to expand its position as an energy supplier to Europe. For the first time in almost two years, EU countries imported more gas from Russia than from the USA in one quarter. This is evidenced by data from the Brussels consulting company Bruegel.
From April to June, the EU purchased 12.7 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia and 12.3 billion from the USA. Supplies from Russia decreased slightly compared to the first quarter of 2024, while from the USA - more sharply.
