The portal 'Lawyers.UA' published interesting information from lawyer Yuriy Aivazyan about how the issue of unauthorized leave of military personnel is examined. It turns out that when a person was mobilized and left the training center before taking the oath, they are already considered a serviceman. This means that even before taking the oath, they are part of the military unit and cannot return to study at the university. The situation is such that even if a person deserts before the oath, they are already considered AWOL, and there is no possibility to return to studies. However, if this is the first case of unauthorized leave, the serviceman can return to service without criminal consequences. Also, we previously learned how the return from AWOL occurs under a simplified scheme and what rights a serviceman has if their AWOL status lasts less than three days.
